Training Log: Week 18

As this is end of the eighteenth week of an eighteen week training program, I’m publishing this brief post simply to close my training log. Next up is the race itself, the Monumental Marathon.

** 01-Nov-2017, 3.1 miles, 10.9 minutes per mile, on a treadmill. Just one short running session at target race pace, after some injury and illness in recent weeks, to convince myself that I can still run and that I might still have a chance to accomplish my monumental quest, conquering the marathon.

Total distance this week, 3.1 miles. Music of the week, Masseduction by St Vincent. Quote of the moment, ‘When running a marathon, if you are already feeling bad at mile 10, then something is wrong, and if you are still feeling good at mile 20, then something is wrong’ by Doug Balogh.

At the Monumental Marathon expo, I’m smiling as I pick up my race packet. I intend to be smiling again at the race as I pick up my finisher’s medal.
